Community Montessori | Education

Community Montessori is a comprehensive educational opportunity for your child in their 40th year of existence. Our Washington State certificated teachers will guide and teach your child from kindergarten through eighth grade or assist you to homeschool successfully. Our educated and experienced toddler and preschool teachers will provide the skills and abilities for your child to succeed in life. We have a large selection of Montessori materials and are dedicated to following the Montessori method in our preschool, elementary, and middle school programs. Parents come from Tacoma and surrounding communities in the south Puget Sound to take advantage of the full-day Montessori child care. Community Montessori is a Washington State approved private school for kindergarten through eighth grade. Child care for children as young as twelve months is available.
We provide a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and educationally oriented program with a Montessori curriculum supplemented by other proven methods within a prepared environment which promotes each child's intellectual, communication, physical, social, and emotional development from twelve months through twelve years, all day, year round. Our staff has the dedication, education, and experience to model the value of education, hard-work, orderliness, and self-discipline. Teachers with these traits are able to include the children in the daily routines of the classroom environment. All children in the program learn by using all their senses. Our hands-on classrooms contain learning materials for: practical life (wipe, scrub, pour, fold, spoon, tong, drop, grate, cut, grind, pound and sift) sensory (explore touch, taste, smell, sound, sight) language (letters, sounds, writing, and reading), mathematics, creative expression, music, geography, and science. There is explicit instruction in skills underlying literacy and numeracy.
