Pierce County establishes 'Veterans Drug Court'
Just in time for Veteran’s Day, Pierce County has announced that military veterans with drug-dependency problems will have access to Veterans Drug Court.
The new program will serve veterans who have become involved with the criminal justice system, are determined to be drug dependent and who in many cases suffer from combat-related mental disorders.
Veterans Drug Court will provide a dedicated treatment program in tandem with the Pierce County Alliance. The Pierce County Alliance is a longtime treatment provider for the original Drug Court.
In addition, the new drug court will work in partnership with federal and state veterans' offices, government agencies and community organizations to access the range of services needed to stabilize the veteran and ultimately to reintegrate them into the community through viable employment, safe shelter and, when needed, reunification with families.

Seriously??? Why because veteran drug addicts get more special treatment then say, people who had medical conditions or car accidents, surgeries etc and became addicted to narcotic medications? This isn't about being anti-veteran, this about fairness.
Same thing for jobs on the market. Veterans with lower scores get a automatic 10% increase of their score, simply for being a veteran. It's about the best person for the job with the best scores. Just like rehabilitating people or prosecuting people is about doing just that, regardless of whether they're a patient with an addiction or a veteran.

Dude.. spoken like some one who does not know what it takes to allow you to be free. Cam we say "Its all about me! me me me me me me me me!'

Its because they have served us and our country you selfish a$$. What have you ever done? It's not about the best scores when someone has a proven record of getting the job done while underpaid , under resourced and under appreciated. In short, they have already proven themselves. In contrast to someone with a great score who hasn't proven themselves. It's one thing to pass a test. It's another thing to get a job done under any and all circumstances...
