Woman rescued after fall at Point Defiance Zoo
911

Tacoma fire personnel have rescued a woman who has fallen down a shaft at the Point Defiance Zoo.

Assistant Chief Dan Crotty tells KOMO the TFD were called to the zoo just around 11:50 a.m. to an area near the Rocky Shores exhibit area.  The woman has fallen through a hole and has gotten stuck.  A technical rescue team is at the scene working on getting the woman out.

The woman is a zoo employee, and she may have a broken leg.  She was responsive during the rescue, but the tightness of the hole she was in made things more difficult than usual.
