Title (Max 100 Charaters)
A 39-year-old Auburn man was saved by three people who pulled him from his wrecked and pickup truck Thursday night on Interstate 5 in Tacoma.
State troopers said the man was in his truck broken down on Northbound I-5 near 56th Street when a semi truck slammed into the back of his vehicle, pushing both vehicles up onto the shoulder.
The man in the pickup truck was injured in the crash and was trapped in his crumpled, burning truck.
Officials said three people stopped and were able to get the man out of his seat belt and pull him from the truck, which was engulfed in flames.
The man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. His current condition is not known.
The semi truck was also totaled in the crash, but the driver was not injured.
All northbound lanes of I-5 were blocked while firefighters extinguished the fire and crews worked to clear the semi-truck trailer.
