To do this weekend: no more snow edition

Thawed out yet, Tacoma? We're still recovering from this wild week of extreme weather. If you venture out, here are a few great options happening around the South Sound this weekend.

Late Night Catechism: 'Tll Death Do Us Part - multiple showings, Theatre on the Square

The latest in the sinfully funny series, Sister is now offering lessons on the Sacraments of Marriage and Last Rites, including a wacky version of The Newlywed Game. Classroom participation is a must, so bring along your sweetie and your sense of humor for a session with the feistiest couples counselor around. This show is couples therapy from a stand up comic...oops, Catholic nun.

Hairstorm - Saturday, Jan. 21, 8 p.m., Louie G's

80s metal tribute band. "All ages! Beer & Wine w/ID! Rockin' good times! Be there or we will hunt you down like an animal! \m/"

Tacoma Wedding Expo - Saturday, Jan. 21, all day, Tacoma Dome

Attending a bridal show is very helpful in planning your wedding because you can meet with many wedding professionals all in one location. Attending a bridal show is very helpful in planning your wedding because you can meet with many Seattle wedding professionals all in one location. Bring your girlfriends, mom, and even your fiance? and enjoy the day. Many vendors will be giving away items as a promotion of the show, and you can only benefit from these if you attend.

Troy Baxley - Saturday, Jan. 21, 8 and 10:30 p.m., Tacoma Comedy Club

Sometimes the best acts are the hardest to describe. How do you describe a comic who goes on a five minute love-rant about his girlfriend's beautiful jacked up buck teeth, then waxes poetic about a side-street meat-jones trying to get some cross-town she-hobo? Hilarious. Don't worry, he doesn't know what it means either, but that's half the point, and why the Las Vegas Sun said "Don't let the rational and mild mannered shell fool you, Baxley can get as twisted as they come." You simply have to see it firsthand to get the slightest idea of what is going on inside his insanely-funny mind. And people see him again and again. Everywhere he performs, fans return, requesting their favorite bits - which are constantly changing and evolving from the last time they saw Troy Baxley "kickin' it street." Tickets are $15.

My Fair Lady - Sunday, Jan. 22, 3 p.m., Theatre on the Square

A misogynistic and snobbish phonetics professor agrees to a wager that he can take a flower girl and make her presentable in high society. 1964 film, directed by George Cukor. More Loverly than ever! * The musical was to have been called "Lady Liza," but Rex Harrison refused to countenance a title based on the name of the female lead. Cost: Tickets: $12 (includes free popcorn)
