Gig Harbor Moctezuma's to reopen early next year | Restaurants

South Sounders rejoice - Moctezuma's Mexican Restaurant will reopen in Gig Harbor by January 2012 in the old Harbor Monsoon building on Fosdick Drive.

The popular restaurant, which had shut down its Gig Harbor location temporarily this summer during construction at a nearby Safeway, sent out the news Tuesday evening in an email to its Fiesta Club members (hey, one Moctezuma's Acapulco Margarita and we'll sign up for anything).

Restaurant owners promise new dishes, an updated interior design, a new bar menu "more than 100 tequilas to create the restaurant's new signature margaritas."

The reopening is scheduled for early 2012, so check back here for updates. In the meantime, tide yourself over at the Tacoma location on S. 56th Street, and make sure to try the carne asada.
